Agrihub is an independent legal entity that has been established between South African fruit industry representatives and competing software solution providers to service the South African fruit industry’s information needs. It was established because the industry’s information needs were not fully serviced. Accurate, complete and timely information is absolutely essential to the industry decisions makers at various levels.
Three growers organisation namely, Citrus Growers Organisation (CGA), Hortgro, South African Table Grape Industry (SATI) with the Fresh Produce Exporters Forum (FPEF) are the industry shareholders with four competing software solution providers namely, Dipar, Farsoft, Paltrack and Prophet making up the other 50% shareholding. All parties have equal shareholding and a healthy balance between industry and commercial interests have been struck.
Agrihub is currently focused on the dispatch (What has gone where?) statistical information requirements of its various industry stakeholders but it is envisaged that the range of services will be extended over time.
